Thanks to hacker Lori.
More good news - I just checked the weather site,
and we have SNOW SHOWERS predicted for Friday!
What a nice thought....

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is Mom's birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm hacking her site to let you all know.

Traditionally we decorate the house for Christmas on her birthday.

There might be a tree trip tonight, although play rehearsal is getting in the way.

She has a great legacy with 3 married children and 4 grandchildren so far...

I love you Mom. Happy Birthday!

Good Citizenship

Voting Day... Afterwards we protested in front of our Representative's Office.
I think all our efforts paid off (somewhat)  He did vote against the Healthcare Bill.

It was David's first time to vote.  And he net a conservative candidate
for the US House.

Then on a recent field trip to Austin, we visited the LBJ Library.
Even though I disagree with his Great Society legislation, it was interesting
to see his side of the story.

Next came a walking tour of our state capitol, which is constructed from
our beautiful state pink granite.  The weather was awesome.

So we got drinks at an outdoor Starbucks.

And enjoyed one of my favorite things - fall leaves.

Family Camp - Part 2

Flag football was lots of fun for the guys.  Here, they are attempting
to get Timothy.

David (in yellow) has such long legs.

Surrounded but he looks like he'll escape.

Timothy is also the kickoff guy for our Six-Man football team.

Besides showing her movie, Bessie, 4 times, Stacie had the job of filming
interviews for the Family Camp documentary.

The volleyball tournament was another favorite, and David's team advance into
the top 8, I think.  But unfortunately my pictures turned out blurry.

Spiritually, we were encouraged by meeting with friends new and old, and by hearing such great speakers.
I'm really glad we got to attend.

Family Camp - Part 1

We spent a week in Big Sandy, Texas, at Family Camp.  It was a great week.
Lew Sterret gave interesting lessons on life while training horses.

Below, Timothy enjoys a game of Carpetball - there is cutthroat competition in this game.

Brian and Katie display their Native American roots.                      And their good aim.

Timothy and David (in green)

Even Katie scrambles right up.
